FirstNetVI's mission is to make USVI public safety professionals, policy makers/decision makers, and the public aware of this initiative existence while preparing the territory for full participation in the nationwide effort.  

Our overarching vision is to provide and connect first responders of the Virgin Islands to a nationwide, high speed, wireless broadband dedicated to public safety.   

FirstNet in the Virgin Islands is Governed by the Territory-wide Communication Interoperability Governing Board (TWCIGB) with representation from major public safety entities within the territory.​

The Project is managed by the Single Point of Contact (SPOC), Dir. Angelo Riddick, Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Bureau of Information Technology, and focuses on the unique challenges of our territory to include communication gaps along frequently traveled waters, inter-island communication, remoteness from the mainland.
